Versatile Blogger Award

My award, courtesy of Lily Tequila
Her blog is called "Wishbone Soup Cures Everything"
Gosh, I sincerely wish it did!

Well, I don't know how versatile this blog is.  I just talk about death and kind of stick to that, but hey, I'm a Leo and if someone wants to give me an award, I'll take it! But, I did start another blog today.  And it's on Word Press!  Oh, the horror!  I guess I am versatile.
If you've been following me, you know that my next quest is of a spiritual nature.  You can read my lame-o first post here. I think I need the self-deprecating blogger award.  Can someone get on that, please?

Here are the rules:
1.  Add the award to your blog.
2.  Thank the blogger that gave it to you.
3.  Mention 7 random things about you.
4.  List the rules.
5.  Award to 15 bloggers.
6.  Inform each of those 15 by leaving a comment on their blog.

Okay, so I did number one.  Thank you Lily for the award.  Everyone go check out her blog and show her some love!  Okay, here's my 7 random things.

1.  I wanted to be a professional roller skater when I grew up.  Not a derby girl, mind you, just a professional roller skater.  You know, someone who just skates all the time.  I love to roller skate.  I don't do it enough, but I probably should because it makes me happy.

2.  My father is a professional poker player.
And there he is.  And no, the cigar was not lit.  If I ever write a memoir about
my wacky life, this will be the cover image.
3.  I don't watch TV.  I am very much out of the pop culture loop in that regard.  I don't think I'm missing much.

4.  I love astrology.  My favorite astrologer is a Canadian woman named Georgia Nicols.  I'm a Leo, Sag Rising with a Pisces Moon.  I also have some planetary aspects that point to an obsession with death.  Ha!  Ya think?

5.  I'm an INFP.  I've taken the Meyer's Briggs test two times.  Once at 18 and once at 35.  I always hoped that it would change, but it didn't.  It's a wonderful personality for writing, so there ya go.

6. Although I don't watch TV, I love going to the movies.  But, I have to be the first person in the theater so I can sit exactly where I want - first row with the rail in front of me.  I don't like strangers sitting next to me, but I like having the movie theater experience of laughing or crying with a bunch of people I don't know.  Yes, I'm odd.  I love popcorn, diet Pepsi and Hot Tamales for the show.  My favorite movie of all times is The Shawshank Redemption.

7.  I met my husband in a bar.  I was the bartender.  He ordered a Full Sail Ale and the rest is history.

Okay, here's my fifteen.  Dang, that's a lot! I'm changing the rules.  I'm gonna bestow this on Five lucky bloggers.
1.  Phoenix Once Again
2.  What Else is Possible?
3.  A Grave Interest
4.  Adam's Daily Apple
5.  Blue Skies Sunny Days

Alright, there ya go.  There's not even a mention of death.  I'm a well rounded individual who is, dare I say it, versatile.

Tell me one random fact about you.  And make it a good one!

  1. I don't think I've ever seen a baby with a stogie before.

    Congrats on your award!

    1. Yeah, it's generally frowned upon to put a cigarette or a cigar in a baby's mouth. But, that's my dad. He thought it was terribly funny.
      Thank you!

  2. I'm also a Leo and if I remember right, Pisces rising Scorpio moon, and an INTP, and I love roller skating also but haven't in years.
Thanks so much for the award!

I'll check out your new blog when I leave here. I don't like WordPress much though because it won't come up in Google Reader and I'm not good about reading blogs in email. No idea why of course.
I also think it's funny that your dad put the cigar in your mouth. Sick humor. Ah well.
    Thanks again!!!

    1. I tried to leave you a comment on your WordPress blog but couldn't get logged in and so got frustrated and came back here. I think your new blog is a great idea and hope you find the trip of benefit. Death and spirituality definitely go together in my book.

    2. I have no idea how Word Press works yet. I had some difficulty and couldn't figure out how to post another picture in the blog. I'm sure I'll learn.
      Thanks for checking it out.

  3. That is such a great photo! And destined to be a book cover.

  4. I erm, only know that I'm a Libra, and that I cant remember what happened on the Myers-Brigg test when I took it, but I do still have a pair of roller skates that I bought for my 13th nearly 23 years ago, they do still fit! I guess thats my odd thing about me, considering my height (5'6" I have pretty small feet - UK size 5).
The photo is a classic :) and will definitely make people curious as to what the book is about.

    1. I wish I still had my roller skates, but they definitely wouldn't fit my feet now. Heck, they wouldn't even fit my 11 year old's feet. She inherited the boat feet from her Mom.

      thanks for popping in Kate!

  5. I rarely watch TV, love The Shawshank Redemption, and think your memoir would sell millions of copies based on the cover photo alone.

    1. I think maybe I'll just have a blank book printed out with that image on the cover. People could write stories about what they think happened to that kid with a cigar in her mouth.

  6. One random fact: I have a metal plate along my right clavicle - sets off alarms - Will never stop biking though....

I am an INFJ too! The IN are in concrete - the F is close to border with the T - and I forget how close the J is to P but I think fairly close. I've taken the M-B two or three times - maybe time to do that again?

And I watch little TV - Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert being pretty much my only consistent TV friends - I don't get reality shows but I can enjoy a good documentary or funny movie from time to time.

    1. I think a lot of writers and artistic types are in that spectrum of introverted, intuitive and feeling.
I love that you set off alarms. I'd be like, "I'm the bionic woman, so let's just get this whole metal detection thing over with because I'm off to save the world."

When I went to NY one time, I had tickets to see Colbert and sure enough, the writer's strike happened. I was so peeved.

  7. That is such a great picture! Thanks for the award, it's nice to be thought of.

  8. Congrats on the award, it's lovely to meet you :).

    1. Well, thank you for stopping in to say hi!

  9. I froze when I saw this post but then realized it was the other award. ^^; Anyway, I've nominated you for the Kreativ Blogger Award! Yay!

By the way, you were probably the only baby who could pull off the cigar totting look. ;) I'm so jealous!

    1. Hi Sarah! Thank you so much for the award. Maybe I'll do the requirements, or just wing it later in the week. I've gotten the Kreativ blogger award, but I don't know how to display them on my blog because I'm kind of technically challenged.

  10. nice posting.. thanks for sharing.
